Drawing by hand seems like a lost form of art. It was usual for school kids to draw logos of famous brands on their notebooks a few years ago. Infact, hand drawn art would be deemed necessary before artists could upgrade to using fonts such as Sans and Sans-serif. Spare a thought for British designer, Seb Lester who is a calligrapher of the modern day who managed to make almost pixel-perfect logos by hand.
As evident in his Instagram videos, Lester managed to draw logos of a number of prestigious brands such as Star Wars, Adidas, Converse and Google. There is no doubt that he is absolutely great at this job of his and can draw complex logos with merely a few sweeps of his pen. Lester explains that he finds the Latin alphabet as ‘one of the most beautiful and profound creations’. Here’s hoping he could be an inspiration for other aspiring calligraphers.
