Here’s How You Can Stop Videos From Auto-playing On Facebook

One of the most annoying moments on Facebook has got to be every second video automatically streaming and potentially blowing up your eardrums. Facebook itself brands this as an ‘easier way to watch your videos’ but let’s be fair; you really don’t want your News Feed automatically coming to life like that. Here is a way to prevent videos on your Facebook News Feed from playing automatically.

Using web browser

On the top-right corner of the Facebook homepage, click on the menu icon and access ‘Settings’.

Head to ‘Videos’ at the at the bottom of the settings on the left of the page. Access the option ‘Auto Play Videos’ from here.  Press the down arrow to switch this to ‘Off’.

Using mobile app

Click the icon with three horizontal lines at the bottom right corner.

From here on head to ‘Settings’ followed by ‘Videos’. Select ‘Auto Play’ once you are into ‘Video Settings’. Finally, switch to ‘Never Play Videos Autmatically’. Voila!
