It demonstrates how a next generation body scanner would capture blood vessels, organs and bones in a human body.
The patient being tested is required to rest in a scanner chamber which is termed the ‘Revolution CT’. A beam of x-rays descends down the body whereby the computer remakes a digital model using each slice. General Electric clarify that the scanner is so quick at performing that it reconstructs the image of one’s heart in a heart beat, literally.
It would not be surprising if you thought these images were adapted from an artist’s work. Truth is, they aren’t. The systems of live patients in Florida are precisely what you see there. Isn’t it amazing to see how science has advanced?
