Obesity is a worldwide issue that does not seem to have an end in the near future. More and more people have joined this category over the last two decades, and it only grows. As of now, over 0.5 billion adults can be considered obese. The global report card on obesity released by Word Health Organisation shows how some countries are worse than others in this regard.
Each country that has over 25 percent of adult men classified as obese are highlighted in red. It is clear as day that the US, UK , Australia and Canada fall in this category. The interesting thing to note is that women are more prone to obesity than men. The report also demonstrates countries with over a quarter of adult women falling in that category.
In regards to waistlines, US is worse than most others with as much as 61 percent of America being overweight. Conversely, South East Asia proves to be the least overweight region that exists with merely 22 percent of the region being overweight. In case you thought it is okay to be overweight, about 3.4 million adults die on this account. Having said that, it is best to ponder over this issue before it is too late.
