NASA Says No to Impending Mayan Prediction

December is almost here, and, while there is still the usual holiday cheer in the air after the Thanksgiving/Black Friday craziness, the Armageddon date set by the Mayan calendar is creeping closer. But NASA has said to take a break from planning your end of the world party and listen to what they have to say about the infamous prophecy.

Impending Doom, end of the world, 2012

Although NASA has ended it’s space shuttle program, that doesn’t mean they have left space altogether. They are still very much experts on the quite expansive subject and what’s going on in it. Now, they are stating once and for all that the world as we know it shall continue to exist well after December 21st. This is their official affirmation from their Google+ page:

“Contrary to some of the common beliefs out there, Dec. 21, 2012 won’t be the end of the world as we know it, however, it will be another winter solstice,”

And to further reassure the public, they hosted a Google Hangout earlier today with experts from many space-related fields to answer any questions or wild statements about the Earth’s imminent doomsday. If you want to read up a bit more on their research, maybe find a loophole or convince your crazy uncle otherwise, then head over to their webpage.

What’s your opinion on the matter? Will you still be hosting an exodus extravaganza, or do you have other plans in mind? Let us know in the comments, especially if we’re invited.
