There has been so much hype about the iPhone 5 that people often forget about what really started this revolution in personal electronics, the iPod, and today Apple has revealed a brand new iPod Nano and iPod Touch to continue its revolutionary run.
The iPad Nano has had several different sizes and designs, as well recently getting the touchscreen and ability to be a wearable watch. It has now been reinvented to what you seen below as the thinnest Nano ever created. At just 5.4 mm thin, it has a 2.50inch multi-touchscreen with physical volume/music controls and the brand new Lightning dock connector. It keeps the same variety of colors as before and unique homescreen of round icons rather than the rounded rectangles seen on all other touchscreen iOS devices. It also features widescreen video playback and bluetooth support. Definitely a huge update to a classic device.
The new 5th-generation iPod Touch definitely got a significant updates as well. Made completely out of anodized aluminum, it is 6.1 mm thin and weighs only 88 grams with the same 4-inch Retina display as the iPhone 5. They even added the 4S’s A5 chip for greater graphics and processing, as well as Siri. It gained the same camera as the iPhone 5 but with just a 5-megapixel sensor, like that of the iPhone 4; they have even added flash to it!
Another unique addition is the Loop. It is an embedded clip for a wrist strap to make sure your brand new iPod Touch stays safe and secure while in use. The Facetime camera was also upgraded to 720p resolution and upgraded Bluetooth to 4.0. Definitely a fantastic change for the more colorful iPod Touch owners is the 5 colors it is now available in.
You can buy the new iPod Nano now from Apple’s website for just $149 at a 16GB capacity. The 5-gen iPod Touch is available for pre-order starting Friday to be shipped out in October. Are you looking forward to getting one of these awesome devices? Let us know in the comments below.
