It seems like the Apple rumor mill is churning year-round and around the Fall is when start to hear speculation about the release of the next iPhone and perhaps an update to the iPod line, but, according to some analysts, the next-generation Apple smartphone will be revealed in September accompanied by an iPad Mini.
We’ve seen plenty of iPhone 5 concept designs the past couple months, with various form factors and specifications, and they all seem to say that the screen will grow past it’s traditional 3.5-inches to a relatively massive 4.08-inches. The latest rumor seems to point towards a 19-pin dock connector instead of the original 30-pin connector that has been around since the original iPod, which would be a huge step in design for Apple as well as render all of the iPhone dock connected accessories useless.
Now the news of an iPad Mini has been up in the air since the release of the Kindle Fire, and the speculation has been re-sparked by the release of the Nexus 7 last month at Google IO. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities, the iPad Mini will not only be a reality but is to be revealed in the next two months. The form, as displayed above, is said to be 7.85-inches diagonally and be about as thick as the current iPod Touch.
Of course, it should be remembered that last Fall, when the iPhone 5 rumors were rolling in, the speculation was that it would be revealed in early September. Then it was pushed to mid-September, late-September, and then it finally appeared at the Apple event in early October. Apple continually likes to keep consumers on it’s toes for the next great product; so, whether it’s an iPhone 5 or iPad Mini you’re looking forward to, keep your eyes and ears out this Fall something amazing.
