Well its no secret that Microsoft has generously allowed Nokia a little free hand to go mess with the Windows phone’s front end design and functionality, after all the partnership is very important to both parties and has proved fruitful for the companies with Nokia’s Lumia series proving to be a success in the industry. The overhauling of the OS done by the Finnish company is very impressive and presents a fresh look to the metro styled UI, attracting a reasonable number of users in a short while.
Pocketnow has produced some images of a modified UI that was designed by a senior R&D designer at Nokia while she was working with the windows phone team. These images present quite a confused approach towards a UI that seems to be inspired by Symbian and wants to be something like Android. You can call it a rather confusing fusion of Android and Symbian OS’.
If all of Nokia’s designers think like this , they should keep their hands off the windows UI or else they will turn it into a functionless, disjointed, confused user interface that nobody would want to use.
The company claimed that these images weren’t official and the company had nothing to do with them. The designer was never asked to make mockups of the modified designs and everything she did was done by her in her own time. One may ponder why would an employee be coming up with mockup designs of an upcoming model in her ‘FREE’ time?
Anyway, the employee has now moved to Accenture and is now related to only the Symbian line of development. What do you think of these mockups? Are they any good? do let us know in comments if Nokia should be allowed to mess with the perfect metro style UI of the windows phone OS.
