As the alleged date of revelation for iPad 3 comes closer the frequency of rumours about it’s designs and features has increased many folds. The themes have changed to ’round up rumours’ where sites and blogs have tried their best to give a recap of all the purported news related to this most anticipated gadget of the year. A recent round up post by MicGadget contains new shots of iPad2 and iPad3 placed together for comparison.
These bruited pictures clearly portray a more steeper taper in iPad3‘s casing rendering it much sleeker than expected. There is a clear difference in the slope of the previous model’s edges and the angled slope of the new design that tapers down gradually. Although the total thickness doesn’t bear much difference, a stacked picture of both the casings depicts a mere difference of 1-1.5 mm.
The increased taper is credited to a bigger battery that has been rumoured to be used by Retina Display and an upgraded A6 processor or as some recent news suggested an A5X processor.
The shots also present a visible difference in the side buttons for the two models. Freshly styled mute and volume control buttons on the alleged casing of the upcoming tablet hints at more detailed design differences to be expected by Apple. Another notable difference can be seen in the camera hole size, as rumours have it this difference in size regards to an upgraded camera, talks of a supposed 8-mega-pixel camera have been surfacing recently. Which may be true as the previous model received extremely bad reviews of its 1-Mpixel camera and Apple wouldn’t want this state of the art tablet to receive any downgrading critique.
All in all it’s not unusual for hardware parts to be leaked out of Apple’s manufacturing plants while we also know that production of the new tablet is on its way before it’s suspected launch at a special event to be held by the company in California on 7th of March.
