The year 2011 is coming to an end, so Apple has published a list of top apps and games which were on the top for the year 2011 — showing which apps were downloaded the most through 2011 and also a list of its favorite apps, as well as which grossed the most money.

Top iPhone Apps And Games
The top app title for iPhone was taken by Instagram followed by Momento. Apple believe that with Instagram it is ‘near-impossible to take a bad shot.’
While the Tiny Wings took the top iPhone game for 2011 title by keeping people engaged to play it for hours and hours, just ahead of Tiny Tower which stood at runners-up for top iPhone game.
Top iPad Apps And Games
The top iPad app award was awarded to djay, a turntable app that offers multi-touch scratching for the musically inclined and the runners-up was Star Walk for iPad.
The game of the year for iPad was Contre Jour HD. It is a physical puzzle game with high quality graphics and which involves much thinking and mind-storming to complete the puzzle. The runners-up was the high graphic, gears-of-war like game, Shadowgun.

Though they really are great lists of games and apps, but as far as we are concerned, the top game of the year should have been given to Infinity Blade, which is the best game on iPhone and iPad with its high class graphics and interesting story.
