Google Rolls Out New Look For Gmail

There were rumours that Google is going to change the layout of Gmail. Well they were indeed true as Google has announced that the new layouts are going to be released for the general public very soon, possibly in a day or two.

The new layout and design was officially announced in a blog post on Tuesday. The new changes are supposed to make everybody pleased while using Gmail.

The changes include dragging sidebars to your preferred position as well as the size, ability to choose from different high-resolution background pictures and setting the spacing between emails in inbox. Along with these major improvements, Google has also added profile pictures and also made the conversations feature more compact and condensed.

These however not be immediately available to the common public and only some of us will be able to enable it. What happens after a little while? Google’s User Experience Designer Jason Cornwell answers,

If you like what you see, over the next few days you’ll be able to switch to the new look by clicking on Switch to the new look in the bottom-right of Gmail.
