According to a report from news agency Reuters, Samsung is going to file patent-violation claim in France and Italy to block sales of iPhone 4S which was launched yesterday at Apple ‘Let’s Talk iPhone’ media event.
Samsung has confirmed this in a statement that they are going to file two preliminary injunction requests in France and Italy today, in order to block iPhone 4S sales. The lawsuit is based on two patent violations related to WCDMA standards for 3G-enabled devices. Under French and Italian laws, court can order a ban on sales of a product even before it hits the market.
Apple has continued to flagrantly violate our intellectual property rights and free-ride on our technology. We will steadfastly protect our intellectual property.
