iPhone 4S, the latest addition to Apple’s line of high-end phones was released yesterday. I personally believe that Apple launched this new phone to rival the Samsung Galaxy S II; the latest and the best offering from the South Korean company. Nevertheless, will Apple beat their rivals in this intense competition? Well, we will have to wait and see until the iPhone 4S completely unfolds to us.
Today we are going to look at the features in the iPhone 4S that we know of and compare them to similar features in the Samsung Galaxy S II and iPhone 4. Here are few of the features that we have chosen and compared to see which phone has won the battle so far.
Processor
The iPhone 4S’s predecessor already worked well with the A4 chipset and there were hardly any complaints about the phone being slow. Nevertheless, Apple has now increased the capabilities of its phone by introducing a 1GHz dual-core A5 chipset, which is easily comparable to S II’s 1.2GHz Dual Core processor but still a little lower.
Networks
iPhone 4S will be the world’s first dual-mode phone supporting both GSM and CDMA networks. This will give users the independence to go anywhere in the world without the hassle of carrying a different phone. However, when we look at Galaxy S II and the iPhone 4 they only support GSM or CDMA network at a time.
Camera
Samsung introduced its Galaxy S II with an 8MP camera. Since, Apple was competing with this phone, it not only had to upgrade its camera from 5MP but also include some new features to beat the competition. That is why Apple also introduced an 8MP camera in iPhone 4S along with improved light sensitivity. No actual pictures from iPhone 4S’s camera have surfaced on the internet yet but we can say that its camera is better.
Storage
The iPhone 4S has been introduced with a revolutionary 64GB of storage capacity. That is almost double than its brother — iPhone 4. However, the S II not only comes with upto 32GB of internal memory but also with extendable memory support for up to 32GB as well. Considering people like removable media more, we might just have to give the credit here to Samsung.
Voice Commanding Software
The Assistant application introduced in the iPhone 4S is the most talking point in every iPhone related discussion. This application has been touted as the one that will separate iPhone 4S from its competitors.
What do you think is the best phone around at the moment, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4 or Galaxy S II? Let us know in comments.
