Social media giant Facebook has released a new instant messaging app called ‘Facebook Messenger’ for iOS and Android. The app has mainly been developed to take care of your messaging needs. Prior to this, IM feature was only a small part of the official Facebook app.
Facebook Messenger is a faster way to message. Reach friends right on their phones, get and send messages fast, message everyone at once and more.

This app is pretty much similar to any other instant messasging application. After logging-in using your Facebook credentails, you can send messages to your Facebook and Address Book contacts. Meanwhile, you can also send an SMS to any Address Book contact if he/she has a linked Facebook account — standard SMS rates will apply. In addition to that, using the device’s location features, user can send his location to friends with just one tap. 😉
