Apple has announced that more than 15 Billion apps have been downloaded from its App Store since its launch back in July 2008.
In just three years, the revolutionary App Store has grown to become the most exciting and successful software marketplace the world has ever seen, surpassing 15 billion downloads.
Apple also revealed some interesting facts and figures related to its App Store, according to which:
- The App Store has more than 425,000 apps;
- There are 100,000 specifically for Apple’s iPad.
- There are more than 200 million iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users worldwide.
- Apple has paid developers more than $2.5 billion to date.
The download mark surpassed 3 Billion in January last year, then exactly an year later Apple announced that the App Store has hit 10 Billion download mark. So from 10 to 15 Billion downloads it took just 6 months — Pretty Amazing, No?
