Microsoft has sold over 10 million Kinect Devices for the Xbox 360, setting up a new Guinness World Record for Fastest-Selling Consumer Electronics Device overtaking the likes of iPad, iPhone and Nintendo Wii.
After it’s release in Novemver 2010, Microsoft sold approximately 133,333 Kinect units per day over a period of 60 days. That’s equivalent to around 8 million units sold in 2 months.
According to Gaz Deaves, the Gaming Editor for Guinness World Records:
“The sales figures here speak for themselves. According to independent research, no other consumer electronics device sold faster within a 60-day time span, which is an incredible achievement considering the strength of the sector.”
