In aftermath of devastating 8.9 magnitude Earthquake and Tsunami that struck Japan on Friday, Apple has decided not to launch the iPad 2 in the country. According to Apple Spokesperson:
“We are delaying the launch of the iPad 2 in Japan while the country and our teams focus on recovering from the recent disaster,” a spokesperson said. “Our hearts go out to the people of Japan, including our employees and their families, who have been impacted by this terrible tragedy.”
The iPad 2 is set to launch internationally on March 25th, but for it’s Japanese debut a new launch date has not been announced yet.
The earthquake and tsunami has affected Japanese Technology Industry a great deal. Retail outlets & productions plants of many companies have been closed because of damage, with no date yet for reopening.
