The folks over at Taiwanese publications, DigiTimes have just published a report, in which they are claiming that the next generation iPad is going to be released in the next 3-4 months.
According to them, the parts and components are now being delivered OEM contractors while reducing those prepared for iPad 2, to start the production of the next generation iPad, possibly the iPad 3. According to them, they got this news from sources in the supply chain.
OEM production of iPad 2 will remain high at 14-15 million units in the fourth quarter of 2011 but decline to 4-5 million units in the first quarter of 2012, paving the way for the launch of the new iPads, the sources noted.
So if these reports are correct, then the iPad 3 or whatever it will be called, will be coming by the next 3-4 months. Its production rate will be 9.5-9.8 million units in the first quarter of 2012 only.
Meanwhile, according to the Commercial Times Foxconn Electronics will begin the production of the next-generation iPads in January, slowly increasing the production rate by February.
The time of production and release of the next generation iPad by both the blogs do not vary much, therefore, iPad 3 would probably be coming in the next 3-4 months.
