Want to keep up with the weather conditions of your place, without opening your iPhone screen lock and opening the Notification Center again and again? Well, there is an app for that.
You see, the Notification Center of iOS 5 allows you to keep weather widgets in it, but unfortunately you can not make them show up on the lock screen. But now, you can keep weather widgets on your iPhone/iPad’s lockscreen without the hassle of jailbreaking.
This app made its way through the heavy checking on the App Store too, which usually doesn’t allow an app that has the capability of customizing iOS more than Apple permits.
The name of the app is pretty definite, “Lock Screen Weather App”, so one can easily find it. The thing it does can’t be more simpler, it just shows all the weather information on your Lock Screen. However, the way it works is not that simple, it is a kind of hack and we will give the developers of this app credit for successfully passing it through App Store’s strict checking.
As iDownloadBlog explains it(we gotta give credit to them too for finding out how it works),
The app actually works by playing a silent song via the built-in iPod app. The album art is then displayed in the lock screen, which is in turn updated depending on your location. It might sound like a hack – and let’s be fair, it really is – but it gets around Apple’s guidelines and actually seems to work.
The downside, obviously, is that if you have this activated then nothing else can output audio. That’s your music listening out of the window, then.
Anyway, leave the part about how it works, if you are interested in using this app to show weather information on your lock screen, just head over to the App Store (link given below) and download this app for your iPhone before Apple decides to knock it off the App Store. You can get it for a minor $0.99 right now!
