The rumours were indeed true! Game development company, Valve Corporation, has announced the new Counter Strike game called Counter-Strike Global Offensive for PS3(PSN), Xbox 360(on XBLA), PC(on Steam) and Mac.
Counter-Strike is a very popular first-person shooter video game which originated from a Half-Life modification. The game has been expanded into a series since its original release, which currently includes Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, Counter-Strike: Source, Counter-Strike: Anthology and Counter-Strike on Xbox. In 1999, it became the most played online PC game, and is still considered among the most popular FPS games of all time.

The release date hasn’t been announced as yet, but according to Valve it will be released in early 2012.
