The fan page of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg appeared to have been hacked. The hacker posted a message calling on the company to transform into a “social business.”
“Let the hacking begin: If Facebook needs money, instead of going to the banks, why doesn’t Facebook let its users invest in Facebook in a social way? Why not transform Facebook into a ‘social business’ the way Nobel Price winner Muhammad Yunus described it? http://bit.ly/fs6rT3 What do you think? #hackercup2011”
The post received over 1,800 likes and nearly 500 comments, after which it got removed by the Facebook staff.
There is no official statement from Facebook up till now, but Facebook does appear to be taking the purported hack seriously since Zuckerberg’s official fan page has changed URLs. The original fan page was at Facebook.com/markzuckerberg. But it is now at Facebook.com/pages/Mark-Zuckerberg/68310606562.
If the CEO can’t keep his account safe from hackers, then who can? Let us know in comments.
